Advanced Available-to-Promise Processing
This scope item builds on the features offered by the Basic Available-to-Promise Processing (2LN) scope item, covering Backorder Processing (BOP), Release for Delivery, Product Allocation (PAL) and Alternative-Based Confirmation (ABC).
If the available quantity of a material is insufficient to fulfill requirements, BOP can be performed for orders in alignment with a specific business strategy. BOP runs automatically and periodically as scheduled, and results in the generation of reprioritized requirements. Furthermore, this scope item enables you to manually prioritize requirements for materials in limited supply and release them for subsequent delivery.
You can configure and check availability against defined quantities during specific time periods in PAL. You can subsequently monitor the results of such availability checks.
You can substitute the originally requested delivery plant in an order document with an alternative plant when an originally requested plant cannot fulfill a requirement.
